Debit Card Issue

MasterCard Security and Risk Management Department has advised North East Texas Credit Union of a possible compromise on some debit card accounts. North East Texas Credit Union’s information security has not been violated.  However, since NETCU debit cardholders are among those affected, we are making you aware of the situation and taking action to limit your exposure to potential fraud.  You will not be liable for any fraudulent transactions to your account as a result of this compromise.

The compromised data includes account number and the card verification value numbers on the back of the card.  If you received a letter or feel your card has been compromised, please contact by phone or in person a member service representative at any of our locations to immediately cancel your existing card and order a new card.

North East Texas Credit Union has no way of knowing whether or not your personal card information will be used inappropriately; it is important that you remain vigilant over the next twelve to twenty-four months in reporting any suspected identity theft to NETCU as well as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.  We recommend that you pay close attention to your account statements and inform NETCU of any suspicious activity.  In addition, you may wish to place a fraud alert on your consumer credit report to alert your creditors that you may be a victim of fraud.  We have included the following contact information for all three credit bureaus.
